My father's father.

He was left an orphan at the age of 14 - his father, a master mariner, died off Mexico when grandfather was only one and then his mother died in 1878. Three years later he was living with his sister Cecilia Waterhouse at Ticehurst and apprentice to his brother-in-law, Albert Waterhouse as watchmaker.
